The Impact of My Purchase
Is there an environmental impact when I make a small purchase?
The answer is an overwhelming yes!!
We cannot express to you how much your consumer behavior has an impact; the more you consume, the more impact you have. Additionally, the more you speak in person or through social media about your purchases, the more your consumption choices matter. At PlanIt Branding, we are dedicated to helping individuals make more informed and conscious purchasing decisions. We are simultaneously dedicated to helping businesses supply convenient, ethical, and eco-friendly options to their customers to remove some barriers (excuses, difficulty finding options, affordability, variety, etc.)
For all these reasons, we are proud to announce the launch of the PlanIt Shop! This shop will help you jumpstart your path to sustainability by helping you make more eco-friendly shopping choices when buying something new.
To start, we are launching with only pet items! However, we will add new categories each month until we feel like there is an adequate selection of quality, sustainable products for you to choose from that will benefit your lifestyle.

Be Conscious of Your Purchasing Decisions
Did you know that most packaging and containers are made from fossil fuels?
Most of the products we buy and consume are wrapped up in fossil fuels in some way; the more we support petroleum-based products and manufacturing run on fossil fuels, the more we unconsciously contribute to climate change. We need to seek out a change in production facilities and industry standards of packaging industries, and we need to support innovative and sustainable fabrics that don’t contain plastics.
We must seek manufacturing facilities that utilize reusable energy, repurposed materials, and eco-friendly materials to make items and move consumption as far away from oil as possible.
FACT: It is better to find a use for plastics and reuse them if you’re using a plastic-based fabric (basically anything with stretch that isn’t marketed as plant-based) rather than discard them
FACT: All clothing that contains plastic (virgin or upcycled) sheds plastic as microfibers when it’s washed (unless you utilize some clothing or washing machine filter), and those microfibers end up in our oceans and, ultimately, our water supply.
FACT: The best option is to seek clothing with no trace of plastic and, ideally, thrift!
Your Individual Purchasing Decisions have Weight
In developed nations, we have a choice. We have the option to:
1) Buy less
2) Buy used
3) Swap/get hand-me-downs
4) Buy from socially and eco-conscious companies
5) Buy in bulk
6) Grow/make/repair as much as possible
7) Vote for good local politicians
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Your behavior matters because it influences your family and your friends.
How you spend your dollars and encourage others to spend their dollars impacts small businesses and the progression of industries. If you are interested enough to visit Planitbranding.com and read this blog, chances are YOU will be the one to pave the path in your community, family, and friends circle.
Utilize your voice
1) Don’t hesitate to voice your opinions about where your dollars should go.
2) Don’t be afraid to contact businesses whose products or services you love directly but aren’t engaging in environmentally sustainable practices. Ask them questions, express your opinion, explain why it matters, and offer alternative solutions. They could listen., so why not try?
If we want to create or propel a movement, each person must understand that they have an impact and can make a difference. This is the entire basis of the documentary film our nonprofit created. It’s easy to think that our actions don’t matter in the grand scheme of things, but that’s like saying your vote doesn’t matter. If each person says that, where would we be as a society?
How big or small your impact is is up to you.
You can make small changes or no changes.
